In this study, we report genome-wide analyses for signatures of introgression between indigenous domestic village chicken and the four wild Gallus species. We resolved the phylogeny of the species and demonstrated that chicken was domesticated 8,000 years ago while the Gallus species began the process of divergence about 4 - 6 million years ago
